GE HEALTHCARE NAMES CAREFX AS THE PREFERRED PLATFORM PROVIDER FOR INTEGRATED IDENTITY & ACCESS MANAGEMENT

BOSTON, GE Healthcare/IDX Users' Conference - August 14, 2006. Carefx Corporation today announced that GE Healthcare, a unit of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE), has selected Carefx as the preferred platform provider of integrated Identity Management (IDM) solutions for its worldwide customer base. Today's announcement expands GE Healthcare's solution portfolio with an IDM offering designed to provide clinicians with simplified, unified and secure access to patient information — addressing a critical need in the ability to deliver safe, quality care.

Fusion from Carefx is an end-to-end solution that addresses clinicians' need to access patient information quickly, intuitively, and remotely, and IT's need to effectively manage numerous clinical end users, maintain network security and ensure regulatory compliance. When a clinician logs into an individual application and selects a patient, encounter or observation, Fusion automatically finds and links related patient information in all other applications and presents a patient's complete medical record in a single, simplified view. As a result, clinicians are able to spend less time searching for patient data and more time caring for patients. In addition, the open and scalable architecture on which Fusion is based delivers seamless interoperability with existing IT investments, rapid deployment, and a comprehensive and cost-effective IDM solution for healthcare organizations.

Fusion from Carefx is being profiled at the GE Healthcare/IDX Users' Conference in Boston where customers will see, first hand, how Fusion from Carefx solves interoperability between GE Healthcare solutions and disparate information systems.

"GE Healthcare is deeply committed to meeting the needs of our customers and delivering the highest level of customer service," said Chris Powell, Vice President and GM, Sales and Marketing Americas at GE Healthcare. "It is imperative that we provide our customers with products and services that work within their existing infrastructure, install quickly, deliver as promised and bring immediate efficiency to patient care. Our partnership with Carefx will enable us to immediately address the challenges our customers have shared with us regarding real-world interoperability and identity management."

"GE Healthcare is one of the industry's most important and innovative vendors," said Andrew Hurd, CEO of Carefx Corporation. "GE spent several months conducting exhaustive diligence on our company, solution, and the success we've brought to hundreds of hospitals worldwide. We're delighted that the process led to their decision to partner with Carefx, continuing the overwhelming industry endorsement of our open and scaleable solutions."

GE Healthcare, a $15 billion unit of General Electric Company, is shaping a new age of patient care by providing transformational medical technologies services that help clinicians around the world re-imagine new ways to predict, diagnose, inform and treat disease, so their patients can live their lives to the fullest.

"We believe that the value of the Carefx solution will not only benefit our clinical departments, but our physician offices and medical records department across our entire network."
